FestivaLink.net presents The Lovell Sisters at MerleFest, NC 4/27/07 Jessica (21), Megan (17), and Rebecca (16) began lessons in classical violin and piano at age five. Nearly three years ago, The Lovell Sisters strayed from their classical roots to pursue the instrumentation and improvisation of traditional music. Jerry Douglas' "Slide Rule" was the first Americana album they heard, inspiring Megan to play the resophonic guitar. In this short set from the Cabin stage, the Sisters' choices range from swing to bluegrass. You can also hear them on the 20th MerleFest Kick-Off Jam. This set is also available with all of the 2007 performances from the MerleFest Cabin Stage. Players: Jessica Lovell (vocals, fiddle) Megan Lovell (vocals, resophonic guitar) Rebecca Lovell (vocals, mandolin, mandola) Jake Stargel (acoustic & electric guitar) Andy Nall (acoustic & electric bass)
