New music from Savannah Music Festival - Quoting the New York Times: “The Savannah Music Festival has evolved into a marathon of Zydeco, Gershwin, Gospel, and Southern Rock that spills across the city." In its long history, the 17-day long SMF has built an archive of recordings documenting the living musical traditions of jazz, classical, blues, bluegrass, Gospel, American, and international roots music artists. We're honored to be tapped by Savannah to present the first release from their precious archive. Volume One includes performances from the past four years, with tunes by the Jerry Douglas Band, and a mando mob including Sam Bush, David Grisman, Mike Marshall, and Tony Williamson. Jazz selections from this event include performances by John Jorgenson, Wycliffe Gordon, and Marcus Roberts, among many others. We'll have two volumes to savor, carefully selected and post-produced by director Rob Gibson and his creative team in Savannah. New music from a new festival - YarmonyGrass is an intimate start-up fest sited on the beautiful Colorado River. In 2007, the party was hosted by newly-retired members of The String Cheese Incident - Kyle Hollingsworth, Bill Nershi, and Keith Moseley, joined by other jamgrass artists and progressive western bluegrass pickers. We have two volumes of highlights from the festival, including tunes from Strings for Industry, Honkytonk Homeslice, Cornmeal, and Head for the Hills. We have sampled from the late-night "Joint Set," but promised not to say who's playing - see if you can guess! Please check out the 2-volume package (more).
