Where do festivals come from? Mega-festivals can start with 50,000 of your closest friends in attendance, and a who's who of the year's touring headliners. Then there are grassroots festivals, the ones that set their unique tone from the very first year, and grow slowly as friends bring friends.
YarmonyGrass started in 2005 as an intimate camping festival inspired by the Colorado River. The late-summer beauty of the Rockies makes this festival very different and special, and so does the artist lineup. Call this the "Jamgrass Side Project Festival," where established jam artists come to pick and play with like-minded progressive western bluegrass players. Members of String Cheese Incident can be counted on to perform all during the festival, together and with others.
