A fixture on the world's folk and bluegrass calendar, MerleFest presents a group of artists whose music defines the widest parameters of Americana music. 2010 marks our fifth year at MerleFest.

Started as a memorial to Merle Watson, Doc Watson's son and musical partner, the festival lineup spans multiple generations, bringing together living musical treasures and their offspring's offspring.

The festival includes 13 performance and workshop areas on the verdant campus of Wilkes Community College. Recordings offered here are full-length sets from the Watson stage, the largest venue. And, from the rustic Cabin stage, we present an assortment of short, 'tweener' sets, bites of acoustic music magic captured between Watson stage performances. In 2009, we added some shows from the eclectic Hillside stage, too.
